FIVE TO FIVE V2.11 - Converts sampled sound data between various formats1.
It supports conversion to and from DVSM, AVR, SND, AU, WAV and raw data.
This makes sound samples portable between the ST, Falcon, PC, Mac, Sun and
NeXT. The program allows samples to be converted from mono to stereo and
vice versa, as well employing a choice of packing algorythms as used on the
various machines.
AUTOMOD by Douglas Little - Plays any Soundtracker, Protracker or
Noisetracker MOD file in 16-bit stereo at 50khz! Simply install the program
from the Desktop, then simply double-click the module to play it.
PRO PLAY v1.6 by Griff of Electronic Images - Plays Soundtracker MOD files
better than the Amiga that created them. Install from the Desktop and you
can simply double-click MODs to listen to them. Features include 50khz 16-
bit stereo output, 32-bit interpolation, and the ability decrunches Amiga
PowerPacked MODs. It even supports CIA timing using the tempo command. Try
any MODs in our SND section with this player for amazing results.
STE SOUND - Patches the Falcon's DMA sound routines to be STE compatible.
Allows programs which use STE DMA sound and were previously silent on the
Falcon, to work.
WIN_REC v1.5 by Andreas Binner - A Shareware direct to disk recording
program. It allows you to record input from the microphone socket direct to
your hard drive. Loads and saves AIFF, AVR and DVS samples. WinRec has
evolved into a very professional system and is feature packed. Now comes
complete with a jingle player and MetaDOS compatible audio CD player which
synchronises with WinRec. Please note that your hard drive must have a
data transfer rate of 400 KB/sec or faster in order to record 16-bit stereo
samples at 50Khz. There are some limitations in this unregistered version.
Obviously you'll need a hard drive to make use of WinRec.
CD PLAYER - Allows you to play music CDs on any SCSI CD-ROM drive running
under v6.0 or later of ICD's software. Multi-TOS compatible.
DESKTRACKER V1.30 - Plays Protracker MOD files as a background task on an
STE, TT or Falcon. There's also a Multi-TOS version which, once installed,
allows you to double-click the MODs from the Desktop. It can also play MODs
which have been packed with the Jampacker. The sound quality is excellent
and you even get an oscilloscope and spectrum analyser running in
independent windows!
STARPLAY v2.2 by Ninja III of Independent - An excellent MOD player which
runs in any resolution. While playing the mod you can alter the treble, bass
and volume. Various statistics about the MOD are displayed and the graphical
display.
DMA SOUND v 1.2 by Anthony Watson - A later version of the program which
plays sound using the DMA chip in the STE. This version runs on the Falcon
and TT too. Once installed, it allows you to play sampled sound through the
DMA chip by simply double-clicking the sample.
DSP v1.1 - This program is a digital signal processor for filtering sampled
sounds. It has nothing to do with the DSP chip in the Falcon. It allows you
to create high pass and low pass digital filters and use them to process
digital information. A typical use would be to remove backround noise from a
sound sample. The converted samples can then by listened to using QPLAY,
which is supplied along with the program.
PROPLAY by Cylab of TPN - Another ACC which plays Protracker MOD files in 4
track stereo at 33mhz as background tasks. Source is included in Devpac and
Turbo Assembler format.
MUSIKDUSCHE V0.6 - Two programs which run in any resolution and allow you to
play a MOD file at 25khz or 50khz. The MOD plays in the background, allowing
you to get on with other things.
SPECTRUM V1.0 - A spectrum analyser which performs DSP fourier
transformation in real time. Multi-TOS compatible.
THE ULTIMATE TRACKER V2.52 by Equinox - Yet another MOD player. It plays
Noisetracker, Soundtracker or Protracker MODs and even accepts files packed
by Ice Packer, Power Packer or Noisepacker (included on disk along with a
decompression program). It can be run as a PRG, ACC or GTP and plays back
MODs at 12.5khz, 25khz or 50khz. When run as an ACC or under Multi-TOS, it
plays the MOD in the background, letting you get on with something else. It
runs in any resolution and even has a status bar showing how much of the MOD
still has to play! If that's not enough, an oscilloscope for both channel
runs in another window and the program can play MODs from a script file.
XBAR III v1.0 - This program allows you to execute DSP programs and divert
the output from ADC, DSP, DMA or EXT to DAC, DSP, DMA or EXT. Apart from
making wierd noises I'm not sure what its real purpose is since there are no
docs. Multi-TOS compatible but won't run correctly in ST compatible modes.
WINCUT V1.0 - A companion program to Winrec. This is a sound sample editor.
It allows you to load samples in DVI format (as created by Winrec) and edit
them on screen, cutting, pasting, copying and deleting as required.
Unfortunately both the program and documentation are in German.

DIGITAL AUDIO MULTILAYERING AND EDITING (DAME) - A direct to disk recording
program. This was originally an ST program which required expensive
hardware. The Falcon version requires no additional hardware (apart from a
microphone) and has been released as Shareware. It accepts the input from
the microphone socket and records it directly onto the last partition of
each hard drive unit connected to your system. You can add various effects
to your sample afterwards. DAME crashes if you don't have a microphone
connected!
TCB TRACKER 030 - An Cool's 'legendary' TCB Tracker converted to run on the
Falcon. This version runs perfectly on the Falcon except for the fact that
you get an error 22 when you try to load (press Space to continue) and your
resolution setting is messed up when you exit. Apart from that you can play
all your old TCB Tracker mods or simply sit down and write some new ones!
PROTRACKER 2 030 - This is patched version (by Falcon Commando) of Karl
Anders Oygard and Hans-Arild Runde - A fully functional 4 channel sample
synthesiser. Originally intended as a commercial package, the authors have
decided to release it as Shareware. It is fully compatible with Protracker 2
on the Amiga, but has many more features. It even handles compressed MOD
files and lets you compress your own. Without a doubt, this is the best MOD
file editor available at any price.
FPROPLAY by The Firehawks - An ACC which plays Protracker MOD files at
50khz.
F030PLAY V1.0 by Phoenix of Cyberpunk - Install this MOD player as an
application, then simply double-click the MOD file to hear it in glorious
stereo. It plays MODs packed with Ice Packer, Atomik and Power Packer
(Amiga). One of the better MOD players. Assembler source included.
NATRACK - An excellent MOD player which plays MODs created on an ST, STE or
Falcon correctly on all three machines. It runs as an ACC or PRG and works
with Multi-TOS. It is designed as an 'advert' for NAudio Library which
allows programmers to write programs which deal with MODs and samples
correctly on all three machines.
OSCI - An oscilloscope in a window which displays the levels of activity on
right and left channels separately. It works fine with some programs but
conflicts with others.
HARDCHOR v0.9 - Yet another direct to disk sampling program. You can record
or play back raw data at 12khz, 25khz or 50khz in 8-bit mono, 8-bit stereo
or 16-bit stereo. Various effects like delay, equalise, harmonise, flanger
and karaoke. There's no docs and the program's in German, but it's GEM based
and very straightforward to use.

OCTALYSER STE V0.96 by New Trend - An eight channel soundtracker program.
The sampler/sample editor, MIDI options and ability to load sound samples
and a few other bits and pieces will be included in the registered version.
Octalyser supports Noisetracker 15 sample and 30 sample formats using 4
channels, an expanded Noisetracker format which uses 8 channels, Startrekker
Amiga 31 sample formats with 4 or 8 channels, Octalyser Amiga 31 sample 4, 6
or 8 channel formats as well as its own! It also allows the use of UMP
modules which, when applied to standard MOD files, allows you to hear them
at 50khz in 16-bit stereo. Octalyser behaves perfectly on a Falcon as long
as you don't try running it from a 2 colour mode. Also, it usually complains
about not finding its RSC file when it's on the disk! This is the only
tracker program which allows you to replay sounds which were sampled at
50khz (the others are limited to about 30khz). Octalyser has an extensive
manual on disk as well as on-line help from within the program. As Octalyser
is no longer supported by its authors, they are allowing this registered
version to be freely distributed.
DIGITAL TRACKER V2.01 - A very powerful tracker program. The current version
lets you load, edit and save Protacker modules and samples only, the
registered version supports Noisetracker and its own 8 channel format too.
Although 8 channels will be supported, the current version is a four channel
tracker. The sampling and effects menus are disabled in this version as is
the ability to load songs and patterns.
DIGIPLAY - An ACC supplied with Digital Tracker which plays MOD files at up
to 50khz and allows you to set up a list of MODs to play in succession.

DELUXE MJUZAKK ZERBASTEL KIT V1.2 - This program is broadly based on the
technology employed by the soundtracker clones where samples are transposed
at different pitches and looped to create lengthy pieces of music which is
very economical in memory usage. This program is entirely DSP based and
allows you to mix and transpose 6 tracks in real time at a frequency of
49khz. It is also possible to use 7 tracks at 33khz or 8 tracks at 25khz. In
fact a maximum of 10 tracks are supported. You can have up to 42 samples (of
any length) in any song subject to memory and DVS packed samples are handled
to conserve disk space. An added feature is that song data may be edited in
a text editor so that you can cut and paste blocks within the song. A
lengthy demo is supplied on disk. This program is very extensively
documented on disk. The docs are in English but the menus are in German.
This Shareware release gives out an annoying screech after each operation, a
good reason to register! To our knowledge, this is the only Falcon music
package to support transposing. VGA only, needs 4 Meg. Hard disk recommended
but not mandatory. You will also need WinRec on F.3962 if you want to create
your own samples.

זלללללללל¶
FORTUNE V1.0 by H Schonfield and B Spellenberg - Now this is an odd one if
ever I've seen one! It allows you to select random 'cites' and play them on
boot up. Cites are a type of sound sample. They can have descriptive text
stored with them and even include dialog boxes! A number of example cites
are supplied. When running the program in 'manager' mode you can select your
own samples in DVS, SND, AVR, WAV or RAW data formats from the ST, PC, Sun,
NeXT and Mac and convert them into cites. The program is supplied in English
and German and is well documented. It is best run from hard disk for speed.
This quality of sound is only possible on a Falcon!
GBELL - Loads and plays a sample when a system call (eg; open window, drag
etc) is executed.
WAVEPLAYER by B Grier - Allows you to play WAV files from the PC on your
Falcon. Includes C source.
DSP MOD 96 by Bitmaster of BSW - A MOD file player which uses the Falcon's
DSP chip. It can be installed as an application so that you just need to
double-click a MOD to play it, or you can simply drop a MOD onto the player.
Includes assembler source for Devpac 3 so that you can play MODs from within
your own programs.
FALCON SAMPLE STUDIO V1.5 - An excellent program for anyone who wants to
work with sampled sound. You can record in put directly from the microphone
socket or load existing sound samples. Sections of the sample can be zoomed,
cut, pasted, copied, deleted or inserted and you can change the frequency
within the range of 8khz to 50khz and play back the sample as 16-bit stereo
or 8-bit mono or stereo. Data can be converted from 16-bit to 8-bit
resolution as well as from stereo to mono. Just the job for editing your
samples. Unfortunately the docs are in German as are some of the menus. FSS
is GEM based and very easy to get to grips with.
HSN CONVERT v1.0 - Converts sound samples from Crazy Sounds' HSN format to
Totosam or S-Wizard format. There's also a program on disk which allows you
to listen to your samples.
FALCON MODULE REPLAY V0.1 - An ACC which plays MOD files in the background
in 16-bit stereo at 50khz. It takes up so little processor time that you can
continue working with your Falcon while the music is playing.
DMA2DSP - Sends null bytes from the DMA to the SSI port on the DSP. I'm not
sure exactly what the purpose of this is, as the docs are in German.
REALFFT - A demonstration of real time fast fourier transformation. Plug in
the microphone and watch the left and right channel displays move in
response to sound input. Once again, docs in German.
THE CHEST V0.99 by Chaos Engine - Another sample editor which not unlike FSS
(also on disk). It allows you to sample directly from the microphone socket
at frequencies from 8khz to 50khz. You can convert 8-bit samples to 16-bit
and mono samples to stereo. Several samples can be worked on, subject only
to memory and these are selected from a list. You can make samples louder,
fade in, fade out and reverse them. The left and right balance and trigger
level can also be set. Lots of features but both program and docs in German.
ML PLAY V0.6 - Lets you unlock the sound system, set a sample rate, then
lock the sound system again. Sorry can't elaborate, there's no docs with
this one.
NOISYONE by Animal Mine - Yet another MOD player which uses the DSP. This
one is a little different as it displays the waveforms of all four channels
on your monitor. However, it switches off the internal speaker in your
Falcon so it will be silent if your monitor doesn't have a speaker!

ANOTHER CRUDE PLAYER (ACP) V1.3 - A MOD player which uses the DSP. This
version is packaged in a nice GEM interface and is fully Multi-TOS
compatible. It can be installed so that you simply double-click a MOD file
to listen to it. ACP can also play Ice Packed MODs.
MADMAX - A sound chip music player for playing tunes in Mad Max format. It
also includes over 90 pieces of music for you to listen to.
MOD2SMP - Allows you to extract all the samples which make up a MOD file and
save them out as raw (unsigned) sample data.
MODPLAY V1.2 by Graeme Urquhart - This MOD player can be installed so as to
make MODs double-clickable. It also recognises and plays Ice Packed and
Atomik Packed MODs. An Atomik Packed MOD is included for you to listen to.
PLAY IT V0.2ß by Christophe Boyanique - A nice easy to use GEM based (using
Easy GEM on F.4724) program for playing AVR, DVS and CIT sound files in
direct to disk mode. These can be played in 8-bit or 16-bit stereo or mono.
Includes C source for playing these type of samples in your own programs.
RAPE THE DSP V1.0 by Animal Mine & Aura - A MOD player which plays 4 channel
Protracker MOD files using the DSP. It runs as an ACC so you can play your
favourite MODs in the background. Beware, this player clashes with certain
ACCs and Auto folder programs, so make sure it's stable on your system
before embarking on important work.
SOUND TO LIGHT (S2L) V1.0 - Depicts both sound channels graphically. Runs as
a PRG or ACC. Instructions are very sparse so you're on your own with this
one!
SNDTEST - Allows you to play any AVR sound sample. As soon as you run the
program, a file selector appears. Simple double-click any AVR file in the
directory window to listen to it.
SURROUND SOUND by Gordon Craig - A DSP program for use with WinRec (on
F.3962) which allows you to create 'surround stereo' on your NiCam Stereo TV
or Video or your Hi-Fi. You need to feed the signal into your Falcon and
then out to a second stereo amplifier in order to achieve the desired
effect. Full instructions included as well as assembler and DSP source code.
This is not a standalone PRG, it will only run when used from within WinRec.
FM SYNTH by bITmASTER of BSW - An early attempt at an FM synthesiser which
uses the DSP. You can load in .FM files and play them back in various keys.
You can choose Modulation or Amplitude and display the f-ration and m-ratio
or left and right channels respectively and alter the sound waves using the
mouse. Several .FM files are supplied for you to play around with.
YET PLAY V1.0 by The Lancs Lad - Yet Another Module Player (that's what it's
called)! There's a TTP version which can be installed so that MODs are
double-clickable and there's also an ACC version so that you can play MODs
in the background.

חלללללללל†
´ F.4867 ´
זלללללללל¶
AVR2SPL v1.0 by F Blackwood - Converts AVR samples to ST Replay's SPL
format. This is particularly useful if you capture your sound directly with
SAM but want to edit it using the Replay 4 editor, which is said to have
better editing facilities than SAM. Includes C source for the conversion
process.
MUSIC CHANNEL V1.62 by Stephan Bold - A music player program which plays MOD
files (you need to have Paula running) or audio CD tracks (if you have
MetaDOS running) in a multi-tasking environment. You must first create a
list of the MODs or CD tracks you want to play. Lists can be saved so as to
allow fast location of MODs for future use. Music Channel can also run under
single-tasking TOS if Paula (also on this disk) is installed as an ACC, but
you can only access audio CDs under Multi-TOS.
MEGATRACKER V0.932ß - A Tracker program which lets you load MOD, MTM and S3M
(16-bit MODs) or create your own. Samples can be imported in AVR, SPL, SAM
or SPE formats. Megatracker supports up to 32 tracks using the DSP and the
68030 at sample rates from 8.4khz to 49.17khz and you can convert MODs from
mono to stereo. Megatracker uses a unique method to fit all 32 tracks on
screen, it uses a screen which is about four times the depth of normal and
you move up or down using the mouse. This pre-release Shareware version is a
little buggy at the moment and save is disabled (it will be operational in
the registered version). However, it is the most compatible tracker around
in terms of supported formats and it is the only one to offer 32 tracks!
PAULA V2.6 - An Amiga MOD player which now runs on the Falcon. It emulates
the Paula (Amiga) custom chip at up to 50 kHz. It is compatible with all
types of MOD file, has three frequency settings, allows pitch and speed to
be tuned and is fully programmable like a simple CD player (multiple
selection, random play, repeat etc). It supports LZ5 or AFX packed MODs and
runs as a PRG or ACC. When run as an ACC or as a PRG under Multi-TOS, the
MOD file will be played as background task, allowing you to continue work
with other applications on your Falcon. The extra features offered by
Selectric and Gemini are also supported in this latest version.
PLAY-BACK V1.14 by Eric Prevoteau - An audio sound player for Multi-TOS. It
plays Sun Audio (AU & SND), Creative Voice (VOC), RIFF & RIFX (WAV) and
Quick Time (QT, MOV, DATA with RSRC) formats and plays mono or stereo
samples at 50khz on the TT or Falcon. It can play a single file, a random
selection or play from a preset file list.
PLAY_40W - Plays any Protracker/Noisetracker/TCB Tracker MOD file at 50Khz
using the DSP. It automatically recognises MODs packed with the Ice, Atomik
and Fire packers and depacks these ready to play.
VIBRAX by Patrick Ruiz - An ACC based MOD player which frees up the CPU for
other tasks by using the DSP. Very high quality output. The only drawback is
that you have to re-activate it after loading or exiting applications.
WAX2PLAY - A sample player which plays any 16-bit mono or stereo sample from
hard disk at any conventional frequency. Output is also supported to an
external synthesiser connected to the DSP port. In addition to playing the
tracks, you can convert mono samples to stereo and vice versa. Tracks can
also be compressed using several different algorithms, in order to save
valuable hard disk space.

זלללללללל¶
BOBTRACKER v 1.0 By Neil Stewart - An advanced Shareware MOD player which
features 50 kHz, 16-bit stereo sound and many other functions (not all of
which are available until you register). Some of its many and varied
features include bass, treble, volume and balance control, support for 4, 6
and 8 track MODs, Spectrum Analyser and Oscilloscope display, and the
ability to play predefined lists of MODs or select MODs randomly. Bobtracker
runs as a PRG or ACC and is MultiTOS compatible.
CD PLAYER V1.4 by Alexander Clauss - Allows you to play audio CDs on a CD
ROM drive. It looks like the control panel of a conventional CD player and
allows you to play individual tracks, repeat tracks, shuffle them etc. As
well as a full display of track number, time etc, CD Player also has a
built-in Database where you can add info such as song title and artist for
each title. CD Player is Multi-TOS compatible but requires MetaDOS and a
MetaDOS audio driver.
CPU MOD by Patrick Ruiz - A MOD player which includes an ACC/PRG/GTP
version, a TTP which can be installed to make MODs double-clickable, a
routine which you can use in your own programs, and assembler source. MODs
can be played at several different frequencies and can be searched through
(useful for moving to individual songs in game MODs). They can be replayed
in mono or stereo in 8-bit or 16-bit mode and can be set to repeat if
required. You can even speed them up until they are completely
unrecognisable!
MODEST V1.1 by Great Dane Software - This program is intended to be used as
a database for keeping track(?) of all those MOD files. It reads in a
directory of MODs and creates a listing of their filenames, the songs
contained within each MOD, the composer's name and the file size. If it
stopped there it would be little more than a database come disk cataloguing
program. Where Modest really scores is that it can analyse all new MODs
against the details already on file and help eliminate duplicates which
would otherwise be missed because the filenames have been changed. You can
analyse and store data on all the common MOD variations. Several MOD types
can also be played by Modest in the full version. This Shareware demo is
fully functional except that it does not play MODs, nor does it allow you to
output your data to disk or printer. Register for the full version.
NTK4_MOD v1.5 - One of the best MOD players around (from the point of view
of sound quality). You can drop MODs onto it, enter the MOD name into the
TTP command line or install NTK4_MOD as an application from the Desktop.
Using the last option, you can double-click a MOD to launch the program.
Once you have set the various options to suit, you can quit back to the
Desktop leaving the MOD playing in the background under interrupt. NTK4_MOD
uses the DSP so it does not cause any sort of conflict with your favourite
applications.
SWAV V0.2 by Christophe Bartholme - Plays 8-bit or 16-bit WAV samples up to
to 50khz via the DMA. It can be installed as an application so that WAV
files can be double-clicked, or you can run it as a TTP or from a CLI giving
it various parameters. Probably even more useful is its ability to be
executed from an Auto folder as it can randomly select a WAV file which will
be played at bootup.
MIDIAN v1.01 by Alexander Weis - A program for managing, displaying and
analysing Midi data of all kinds. It is also a bank loader, sample loader,
MIDI monitor, data converter and more. The bank loader can send, receive and
store MIDI data and writes it out in SMF, Steinberg Satellite or Midian
formats. The sample loader stores samples using the MIDI sample dump
standard. Midian displays a comprehensive analysis of files when they are
loaded. It can import data in Sounddesigner or Avalon formats and export in
Avalon format. Multi-TOS compatible.
ANOTHER CD-PLAYER (ACDP) V1.01 by Christian Mittendorf - Audio CD driver for
use with MetaDOS. It has been designed for use on the Falcon with
FALCON_BOS. ACDP has many functions which include playing the audio tracks,
reading the actual table of contents of the CD, stopping the song, changing
to the next song and more. Runs as a PRG or ACC.
DIRTY SOUND STUDIO V1.01B by Trisomic Development - A direct to disk
recording package which supports 6 tracks at 33 Mhz or 4 tracks at 50 Mhz in
16-bit stereo. It's all very well presented but unfortunately both program
and docs are in French. Would anyone like to translate.

SWEET 16 by RONI Music - Despite its name, this is a 32 track Shareware
sequencer with a respectable resolution of 192 PPQN. It is pattern based
with an arrange list and patterns can be any length. Good editing functions
are supported via a piano-roll type screen and an event page. A folder of 8
songs is included in its own .SNG format. Standard MID files can also be
imported. Two versions are supplied, Sweet 16 Demo version, with save
disabled, and Sweet 16 Lite, with save enabled but several other functions
disabled. The full version is available on registration from UK based Hands
On Software.
EKED-M1 v1.0 by Steven Eker - An editor/librarian for the Korg M1/M1R
synthesizers. Runs on any Atari in any resolution. A comprehensive-looking
program and it's Freeware!
K-SCULPT V1.4 by Ben Hall - A librarian for the Kawai K1 series of synths.
Also KS Dumper, an accessory for loading and sending banks or patches to the
K1.
SMF PLAY by Peter Bogner - A standard MIDI file player which runs as a
program or accessory. Several parameters can be set on/off, eg program and
control changes, controllers, etc.
GEM REC V1.2b by Craig Drummond - A two track direct to disk recorder
capable of simultaneous recording and playback of AVR files at 49 Khz. As
the name suggests, it is GEM based and is laid out in a similar fashion to a
tape recorder with play, record, fast forward, rewind and stop buttons. A
good degree of control is offered over the audio sub-system input/output
parameters.
MUSIC ANALYSER v5 by Roel van de Kraats - Gives a visual display of an
incoming signal from the microphone socket. The program displays a separate
set of data for each channel, showing 14 band frequency spectrums (ranging
from 30Hz to 15Khz), VU meters and oscilloscopes, all of which are updated
in real time. The left and right input gains are linked at startup but can
be unlinked if required. Includes full source in Pascal and DSP56001
asssembler.
SND PLAY v1.1 by Richard Kurz - A DMA sound sample player. Plays at various
rates, up to 50 kHz in mono and supports both 8-bit and 16-bit stereo.
ST TO MIDI CONVERTER PLUS by Andrew Gower - Converts soundchip music into
MIDI data which is then sent out to your synth. Although it doesn't work for
all software, the author has achieved some pretty astounding results from
Secret of Monkey Island, Civilisation, Railroad Tycoon, Xenon, Arkanoid 2
and others. This latest version uses less memory and even works with some
games which run from the bootsector.
TIME IS MONEY by Jerome Cabanis - Performs all the necessary conversion
calculations between tempo and note values expressed in terms of hours,
minutes, seconds and milliseconds. Everything can be converted and expressed

CD SOUND V0.26B by Jonathan Waite - A Shareware audio CD player with a
difference. It does NOT require MetaDOS or ExtenDOS to be loaded! It reads
the audio data directly from a SCSI CD-ROM and plays the music. CD Sound
runs as a PRG or ACC and has standard CD player buttons on it. In addition,
it allows you to input the artist's name and song title and save these
details in a database. Please note that CD Sound will not read computer data
on CD-ROMs, only audio data.
KARA4TOS by Peter Bogner - A Midi based Karaoke system for your Falcon! It
takes a MIDI Karaoke file (compatible with those used by the PC program Soft
Karaoke) and outputs it to your Midi equipment while displaying the words to
the song on screen. Unfortunately there are no Midi Karaoke files supplied.
GENERAL MIDI MULTI-SET EDITOR FOR THE KORG 03R/W by Peter Bogner - Due to
the fact that the Korg 03R/W only supports one multi-set, all data is
normally lost when you switch off. This program allows you to create or
change multi-sets and save them to disk for transmitting to the Korg at any
time. You can choose the sound group, sound name (GM mode), the volume and
parameter setting for each channel. It is also possible to swap between the
GM bank and the 03R/W's soundbank. Runs as a PRG or ACC.
THE MUSIC PLAYER V1.0 by Christian Dahl - Yet another MOD file player but
this one actually has some extras to offer. As well as the usual 4 track
MODs TMP also handles 6 track and 8 track variations. It plays the MODs at
50 Khz, supports the VA-START protocol and can be run from a CLI. Up to 20
MODs can be loaded at once and TMP is fully multi-tasking friendly. Runs as
a PRG or ACC. From the author of Octalyser.
PLAY WAVE V1.0 by Mark Himsley - Simply drop a WAV sound sample onto this
program to play it or install it as an application so that WAVs can be
double-clicked from the Desktop. The file replays using the closest
supported (by the Falcon) DMA sound frequency to that at which it was saved.
SMF PLAYER v1.1 by Peter Bogner - A nice GEM based program which simply
outputs any standard Midi file (format 0 or 1) to your synth. In addition,
you apply a few different effects to your data and the Midi clock function
allows you to synchronise your synth with the play function.
THE PIANO PLAYER by Peter Bogner - Yet another standard Midi file player.
What makes this one so different is that the keys on a piano keyboard (on
screen) are highlighted appropriately as each note is played, hence the name
of the program. Easy to use, but with instructions built into program.
MEGAPLAYER V1.16 - Yes, another MOD file player which uses the DSP! This one
was originally designed to play the custom MODs created by MegaTracker
(F.4867), hence its name. It has now evolved into a universal player of
Soundtracker type MODs from the Atari, Amiga and PC. It currently handles
SoundTracker, ProTracker, NoiseTracker, StarTrekker (Amiga), Octalyser (ST-
Falcon), FastTracker I & II (PC), Composer 669 (PC), Oktalyzer (Amiga),
MultiTracker (PC), ScreamTracker 3.0 to 3.2 (PC), UltraTracker 1.4 to 1.6
(GUS on PC) and Digital Tracker (Falcon). What's more, the MODs can be
packed using Atomik 3.5, Ice 2.4, SpeedPacker 3, Sentry 2.0 or PowerPacker
2.0 (Amiga). The interface is identical to a conventional CD player and
MegaPlayer runs as a PRG or ACC and is multi-tasking friendly.

SONGZ V1.89 by Antoine Martin - A multi-media database program. It is
essentially a database designed to help you keep track of your tapes,
records and CDs. Album name, song titles, artist's name, music type, year of
release etc are all stored and are quickly and easily searched through. In
addition, music and graphics (even Quicktime and MPEG movies) can be linked
to individual entries, making this a truly multi-media experience. The only
thing is, you'll need a hard drive if you want to do that! Supported graphic
formats include Art Director, Degas, JPEG, IMG, NEO, Doodle, Prism Paint,
TIFF and STAD. Music file support includes MID, MOD, AVR and WAV. In fact,
when running on the Falcon, direct to disk recording (at up to 50khz 16-bit
stereo) is possible. Songz is very neatly laid out in a slick modern GEM
interface and it takes no time at all to get the hang of things. Menus can
be configured for English, French or German. Unlike the ST version, this
disk includes optimised versions for 030 based computers (TT, Medusa, Eagle
etc) and a specific Falcon version. This unregistered version includes
several example databases but limits the number of new sheets to 40 (1600 in
the full version) and picture viewing is disabled. Registration removes
these restrictions.

D20, and D110. Very plain interface but all the necessary parameters are
there on one screen making it easy to use.
FATSOUND - A 4-voice Soundtracker player for 68030+ computers running at 12,
25, & 50 khZ which uses the DSP (if running on a Falcon).
MID2TXT by Peter Bogner - A standard MIDI file analyser . Reports on notes
off/on, program/control changes and other data.
MIDIKLA4 by Peter Bogner - Displays a keyboard on screen which highlights
key presses when a MIDI keyboard is played.
RECFREE by J Gerstel - A simple to use but limited direct-to-disk recorder.
Supports AVR, AIF, TKE, and RAW formats. Single track only and no editing
facilities.
SPEKTRUM - A frequency analyser for the microphone input. Shows input levels
over 13 bands.
VIBRAX by Patrick Ruiz - Another DSP based MOD player for the Falcon. This
one's main claim to fame is the fact that it runs as an ACC and is fully
compatible with Blow Up and ScreenBlaster.
MIDIKEY2 by David Schwinn - A MIDI keyboard accessory which displays a 9-
octave keyboard on screen with very small keys. Notes can be played with the
mouse at different velocities.
THE GUITAR REFERENCE by Alan Richardson - Displays a user-definable guitar
fretboard on screen to which different scales and tunings can be displayed.
Includes a tuner which plays over MIDI or sound chip.
PLAYBACK v1.1 - A standard MIDI file player by John Janssen. Not a very
pretty interface but well featured and it does the job.
PLAY_AVR by Timothy Raine - A sample player which automatically converts 16
bit to 8 bit samples (why you should want to do this I don't know),
resamples to nearest internal playback frequency and signs an unsigned
sample.
SP_COPY - A copy utility specifically for the Peavey SP sample player. It
lets you copy selected SP-banks or the entire medium (hard drive, CD-ROM
etc). We don't have one of these machines so you're on your own here!
MIDIPLAY by Alexander Seitz - A standard MIDI file player with control over
MIDI channels, voices, tempo etc. Demo version with some facilities
disabled. German dialogue.
MUSICALC v1.2 - A Shareware accessory from 999 Software for calculating
delay times given beat and tempo. It also provides various facts and
figures.
HIGHER & AILLEURS 881 by Thierry Rochebois - A paradoxical tone generator
for the Falcon. A paradoxical tone is described by the author as an auditory
illusion, consisting of a sound going infinitely lower and lower or higher
and higher. This program lets you generate a wide variety of paradoxical
tones and effects by specifying ascending or descending, stereo or mono,
octave variation duration and 'beating' effect. The time taken to generate
the effect varies dependent on the above settings. Needs an FPU, bombs if
you don't have one!
FAST DTM V1.0 by Emmanuel Jaccard - Assembler source for a fast player
program for DTM type files. DTM files are apparently an adaptation of the
Soundtracker MOD file format which support up to 16 channels. This player
replays them at a respectable 25 Khz. Requires Devpac or similar to
assemble. An example DTM file is included on disk.

32 voices at 49 kHz.
PAULA DSP V2.2 by Chris of Aura - An adaptation of the Paula (emulates the
sound chip of the same name on the Amiga) software on F.4867 which makes use
of the DSP chip. This variant is unique in that it outputs sound directly to
an SSI interface. It supports all MOD types supported by Paula (in other
words almost everything!) as well as the Protracker 3 format. Complete with
assembler source. Requires an SSI interface, otherwise you get silence!
JUST4YOU - Nine compositions in MID format by Fabrice Pierrot. Titles are
AUTOMNE, BOUGA, GROOVE, JINGLE, NATACHA, OSCAR, SOUVENIR, SWEET SM, VALERIE.
MIDI THRU by T Alker - A simple yet effective ACC which allows you to use

ARPEGGIATOR v1.11d by Electronic Cow - A 2 channel, 8 note MIDI arpeggiator.
Notes can be entered via MIDI or using the on-screen keyboard. Tempo, pan,
fade and other parameters can be set and played back via tape deck style
controls i.e. forwards, backwards, random or 'ping-pong'. This demo version
is restricted to 4 notes and, although you can save as an ARP file, you need
to register to save as a MID file. 17 example ARP files are supplied.
PLAYSID030 v2.00 by Abyss & Tao of Cream - A Commodore C64 SID chip emulator
for playing chip music from those 8-bit days when Rob Hubbard, David
Whittaker et al ruled the music scene. Includes 43 music files including the
likes of Dragon's Lair II and Commando.
MATRIX by E Breen & Martin Maisey - Graphically displays information about
the current status of the Falcon sound matrix. This is the hardware that
allows diverse parts of the sound system to be linked together independently
of the main processor. It also allows the monitored track to be altered, the
sound system to be reset or locked, and the input to be switched from the
external Analogue to Digital converter to the PSG. Runs as a PRG or ACC.
MIDI ENHANCER by Mad Harry - Allows you to play microtonal music (i.e.
alternative tuning systems) on your synthesizer, as long as it can send on 2
different channels (or use 2 MIDI instruments and a MIDI Mixer). Good
English docs on disk.
MIDI MONITOR V0.84 by Electronic Cow - Analyses incoming MIDI data by 15
different criteria on 16 channels. Runs as an ACC so that you can monitor
MIDI activity from within any GEM based sequencer.
MODRIPPER V3.41 by Crashman - As the name suggests, this program lets you
extract any 4, 6 or 8 channel Soundtracker MOD (in XM, MTM, 669, DMF, MGT,
GTK, S3M, STM, NTK, FAR, PS16, OKTA, DTM, TCB, MDL or MED format) or
pictures/animations (in EGG, FLC, FLI, GIF, IFF, INDY, JPEG, PCX, PIX, PNT,
TG1, TCP and IIM formats) from executable programs. Programs packed using
Ice Pack v2.2/2.4 or Atomik v3.5 are automatically depacked prior to
extracting, other compressed files need to be depacked manually first.
NEWTRACK by Simon Volant - Yet another MOD file player. Includes an program
which converts Amiga MODs into a format Newtrack can use. Docs are in French
so we can't say much more about it!
NED PLAYER v3.1 - Simple sample player for ATARI STE, TT and Falcon. Plays
8-bit mono files only from 6 to 25 kHz. Doesn't handle packed files.
MOD REPAIR by Daniel Fischer - Tests the structure of a MOD and then
attempts to correct any errors. MR can also play the corrected modules.
SOUNDINIT v1.0 by Richard Kurz - Initialises the sound system of the STE/TT
& Falcon. Program can be renamed according to the volume required and
whether to turn the loudspeaker on or off, and installed in the Auto folder.
WIBBLY WAVE v0.4 by Electronic Cow - An easy to use sample synthesiser which
allows you to generate 8-bit AVR samples from 4 DCO waveforms and 3 DCA
envelopes, and finally control the frequency (pitch) and modulation
("wibbling"). There is no play facility within the program so samples have
to be saved and loaded into your own sample player or editor.

database in which you can assign names to inputs, outputs, and banks.
AUDIOCREATE v3.01 by Simon Dehaese - Good sampling software for STE (8 bit),
TT and Falcon (16 bit) with direct-to-disk recording and playback
capabilities. Plenty of facilities for manipulating samples. Output via MIDI
(preferable) or monitor. Falcon owners can record via the mic input or
sampling hardware (eg; Clarity) whilst ST'ers will need Replay or similar.
DSP_PLAY by Bitmaster -A DSP MOD player which runs as an ACC. No user
interface except load and stop, but high quality sound.
GRAOUMF TRACKER v0.887 - 32 voice soundtracker from France. Fully
functioning Shareware. Loads GT2, GTK, MOD, MMD, 669, MTM, S3M, ULT, DTM and
XM formats and saves GT2, GTK, MOD and S3M formats. Very nice interface but
a knowledge of French would be useful.
MIDI MONITOR by Electronic Cow - Analyses incoming MIDI data by 15 different
criteria on 16 channels.
SOUND CHIP SYNTH - Control the sound chip with this program from Electronic
Cow. Create and save patches for later use. Some limited MIDI control.
SC7 CONTROL by David Tomes - Controls some parameters of the Roland SC7
sound module that can only be accessed by MIDI. The writer would like to
hear from you if you own this module, which was aimed at the PC/Mac market.
ADVANCED RTT GENERATOR by Sorceror Sound Productions - A fun program which
generates random music based upon the Delay, Note and Tempo values input by
the user. It then plays your 'composition over 4 MIDI channels. A 16 channel

SYSTEM AUDIO MANAGER (SAM) V1.3 - Originally bundled free with the Falcon,
JTS Atari have now given permission for SAM to be distributed freely. SAM
allows you to attach sampled sounds to system events eg; an explosion to
bombs, Big Ben chiming for the system bell sound and so on. Alerts, file
selectors, closing windows, indeed any GEM event can have a sample assigned
to it. In addition, you can assign different samples to the keys on the
keyboard. Press Help and it says 'Help', press Undo and it says 'Undo' etc.
Adding samples to every key goes a bit over the top and can be off-putting,
especially if you're typing! SAM accepts sound samples in AVR or WAV
formats, so you can use any the masses of PD samples available.
Alternatively, just plug a microphone into the back of your Falcon and
record the sounds yourself! SAM's built-in sampling editor is simple to use
and more than adequate for the job. SAM was designed in such a way that
programmers could make their programs SAM aware. When running such programs
you can assign samples to various events handled by that application. To be
honest the possibilities were endless, the problem was that nobody ever
supported SAM in their programs. The reason appears to be due to a bug in
SAM which meant that the configuration files were not read correctly. This
version has been patched by Kosmic Phish Productions to fix the bug (the
last official version was 1.2). SAM is very well documented (on disk) and
includes a full tutorial.
SAMPLES - A collection of 40 sound samples to get you started with SAM.
KP SACK V1.0 - An easy to use editor for creating SAA files. These are
configuration files created by programmers of SAM aware application. They
are read by SAM to determine which samples to assign to which events. KP
SACK allows you to create SAA files easily. It also extends the Applications
Global function in SAM. This function lets you set up common events for all
SAM aware applications rather than (or in addition to) program specific
ones. The original set of Applications Global functions have been further
extended by Kosmic Phish to include 16 new Application Globals which include
support for some of the more modern GEM features such as iconification and
tile/stack windows. KP SACK is an excellent tool for programmers.

SFO v1.0 by Arne Sheffler - Checks through your Cubase Audio song files and
deletes AIF samples which are not being used by any of your files.
MTOOLS v1.20 by Mark Wherry - A MIDI harmonising program, i.e. you play a
tune on the keyboard and this program plays the harmony. Various parameters
can be set, e.g. scale, harmony type, transpose, key. Register with the
author to get many more harmonies, scales, presets, plus a manual.
KP FLASH V1.0 by Kosmik Phish - A clone of Jeff Minter's Virtual Light

Real groovy stuff!
G2C V1.0 by David Lacassagne - For use by guitarists. Screen displays a
representation of the tape used by a guitar, each line of cells
corresponding to a string. The cells contain the appropriate notes (which
may be altered) and the program is used to aid the tuning of your guitar.
Your default settings may be saved. Docs in English and French.
FUTURE SOUND - A player program for SID chip music from the Commodore 64.
Runs on any Atari with DMA sound. Includes several tunes to get you started.
Can be installed as an application so you can double-click tunes to play
them.

assembler (Devpac 3) and DSP (ASM56000) formats for use in your own
programs. Docs in French.
STEREO V1.0 by DNT - Converts soundchip music into DMA stereo sound on the
STe/TT/Falcon. Listen to the soundtracks of your old games (assuming they
are Falcon compatible) in full stereo! Docs in French.
DMA SOUND OSCILLATOR V2.20 by Terrasaur Systems - Displays two oscilloscope
traces (one for left, the other for right) and monitors sound from a
currently playing MOD file (being played by any ACC based MOD player) or
direct audio input via the microphone socket.
